Well its March once again and as most of the country begins to have thoughts of the coming spring, we here in the Keweenaw are of course still buried in the midst of winter. But the signs of the coming season are beginning to emerge as the days get longer and the sun shows itself more frequently. And that only means one thing for most of us here at CCE – the premier exploration season is fast approaching.
To make the most out of those Copper Country explorations its a good idea to have a good map, preferably one that illustrates the location and layout of the mines and mills that helped forge the Keweenaw’s rich character. That’s where CCE’s Copper Empire Historical Atlas comes in handy. Showcasing every mine, mill, and industrial center from Painesdale to Mohawk, the Copper Empire Vol 1 is the perfect companion for any Copper Country exploration, as well as a great reference tool for anyone curious about the size and scope of the great copper empire that once ruled the peninsula.
In order to assist you on your upcoming copper country explorations this spring, we’ve made it even easier to obtain your own copy of the Copper Empire Historical Atlas (Vol 1) by slashing our prices on both the print and electronic versions. For the entire month of March, you can use the discount “THINKSPRING” while shopping in our store to receive the following discounts:

The Copper Empire Historical Atlas is a great resource, one that I especially wished I had when I started out exploring over a decade ago. That’s the primary reason I decided to make it. Enjoy, and thanks for supporting Copper Country Explorer!
I for one will attest that the Copper Empire Vol I is one of the best reference manuals I have ever obtained. I never leave home without it. It is by far one of the best investments I have ever made for exploring the Copper Country, (that and a four wheel drive vehicle). Everyone should buy one! And I’m not one of Mike’s relatives either.
Mike, please start selling 4WD vehicles too!
I will also say it’s well worth the money, even if you don’t actually get to the sites proper, It’s been interesting just to see what was there…
Also, if we all buy enough of them he’ll have to write volume 2 and get to the older and more interesting mine sites north of Mohwak…
Thanks Steve and Jim for such great testimonials! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the maps and I hope they come in handy during your explorations. As for the second volume it looks as if I won’t be able to get to it this spring like I had planned. I’m now hoping to get it finished by the end of the year, but we’ll have to see.
I’m currently trying to get this ruin guidebook going, but I haven’t had a great deal of time available to get it done. The hacked website and broken computer hasn’t helped much either.
